Hosting

Web hosting looked after from Nowra, not a ticket queue.

Australian servers, real backups and a support number where the person answering can also fix it.

The test that mattersThe long weekend test.

Picture the Saturday of a long weekend in January. The town is full, your site is taking bookings or at least taking enquiries, and something breaks. With most cheap hosting you are now writing to a form, in a queue, in another time zone, while the busiest trading day of your year leaks away.

Our answer to that is structural. We host the sites we look after on managed Australian infrastructure, we take backups through the day rather than once a night, and the people responsible for your site are the same people who answer (02) 4480 6045. Small region, short chain of responsibility.

Included

Included with hosting, not sold as extras.

The things that only matter on the day they are missing.

Australian data centres

So pages load fast for the local and visiting traffic that actually matters to you, not for a benchmark in another hemisphere.

Frequent automated backups

With restore points through the day. A bad update or a deleted page is a rollback, not a rebuild.

SSL certificates, issued and renewed

The padlock never lapses because somebody forgot a renewal date.

Software updates and security patching

An unpatched site is how small business websites get hacked, and cleaning one up costs far more than hosting ever will.

Business email at your own domain

Set up alongside your site on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, so the address on your ute matches the domain on your site. Ongoing mailboxes, licences and migrations sit with our business IT side.

Business IT

Local support in business hours

Monday to Friday, on (02) 4480 6045, with a real escalation path when something genuinely urgent lands outside them.

Switching

Changing hosts feels risky. Done properly, it is not.

Three stages, and the public never sees any of them.

1

We copy everything first

Site, database and email, moved onto our infrastructure and tested there before anything public changes.

2

You forward one login email

That is genuinely the whole of your job. If you do not have the logins at all, that is a familiar Tuesday for us. Domain names.

3

We switch in a quiet window

The DNS change is timed so the public never notices, and the old host stays live behind it until we are certain.

Straight answers

Hosting, minus the fine print.

Four questions that decide whether hosting is worth thinking about at all.

What does it cost?

Small business hosting is a fixed monthly figure that includes the backups, SSL, patching and support above. Bigger sites and stores are quoted on their real requirements rather than squeezed onto a plan that does not fit. You get the number before you commit.

We already pay someone for hosting but we are not sure what we get.

Send us the invoice and the domain and we will translate it. Sometimes the answer is that it is fair and you should stay put. When it is not, you will finally know what you have been paying for.

Can you host a site another designer built?

Generally yes, after a quick health check so we know what we are inheriting. Anything concerning gets listed before you commit, not discovered after.

Does hosting include changes to the site?

Routine platform care, yes. Content changes and new features are quoted separately or covered by a support plan, and because we are local you can talk through what a job needs before deciding.
